Delighting myself in God

6 July 2007 Mark Wilson 2 comments

I really feel to share this with you.

The main thing I learned from Brother Lawrence was this: “That our only business was to love and delight ourselves in GOD” That is why I try to delight myself in God too with my FUN choice of words on this blog. I also go to bed an hour earlier than I need to, just to read the bible, pray, lie there hoping He will come near, journal about my thoughts about Him.

BTW: I don’t do anything weird like soaking or meditate or open myself up to anything. I don’t do any esoteric thing. I don’t even read those books or have them in my house. Jesus is all I want and need. He has everything I need or His death and life is the Doorway through to what I need.

Woot!

As I was writing these pages on the path to healing today, I had a clear “open vision” of Jesus (or the Angel of the Lord or… I dunno?!) standing in my room in front of me, about 2 meters (3.5 ft?) behind my monitor looking calmly at me.

I love experiences like that. It totally confirms that Jesus is in this and that because my sins are utterly removed from me, no matter what I do, that He can and will display Himself to me. Woot! Woot! You probably wouldn’t believe how often I have these “visitations”. God absolutely rocks!

Tis the season to be polly, fa la la la…

BTW: I posted several path to healing I will write them often. Just keep reading one per day and praying the prayer. Abide in Him and He will abide in you. God bless you! And I added new flikr pics too. And… thank YOU for visiting this blog. I don’t think I say that enough. God bless you!

One of the most wonderful things about living in Canberra, is the bird life. (Ok that is true for Australia in general.) Canberra has four distinct seasons and in this season the bird life is abundant. When I lived in Ainslie I used to see flocks of the white polly’s munching on the sidewalks. I’d amuse myself by pulling over and watching them dig their heads right down into the soil to get to the roots of the grass. So it looks like a weird bird body is popping out of the grass. (Yes… I’m easily amused.) They are so social, they hang out in massive groups and interact. By interact I mean… they fight and eat and jump and squawk! So fun.

So I felt bummed that I had moved and I hadn’t seen any flocks of them near my home. And 2 days ago I drove home and they had moved to my area. Woot! Heaps of them all over. Woot!! And so I thanked God for that (literally, in a prayer) and then I pulled up into my driveway and saw this little cutie munching on my lawn. I will get some pics of them on the sidewalks and post them.
