Exodus – Passover
Bit by bit I am using OT prophesies to show you the complete extent of what Jesus did for you.
In the OT book of Exodus we see the Passover.
But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt. – Ex 12:13 (and also maybe read Ex 12:23 and Ex 12:27)
The “blood” is a reference to the sacrifices mentioned in this chapter. Sacrifices are a regular theme ever since God warned Adam that disobedience would release death into the world.
Disobedience is another word for “sin”. Sin releases all kinds of trouble into our lives. This trouble is called “death” by the bible. It is sin that causes death.
If you are experiencing sickness and trouble, you know by personal experience that there is something bad causing trouble in this world. In Genesis that “bad” thing is called sin – and sin causes death.
But God said, if the blood is over the house, then sin is paid for and death passes by. It “will not touch you”.
And that is why Jesus came and why He died, so that death (in all it’s forms) WILL NOT TOUCH YOU.
Will you say this prayer with me?
Thank You Lord Jesus that You died for the world and FOR ME. You even died for all of my family members. You died for everyone, past, present and future. You died once. You will never die again. Your blood covers me and that is why death (in all of it’s forms like sickness etc.) cannot touch me. Thank You Lord!
Please remember to abide in this truth. Remember that this is the truth that bible says over and over and over! So I’m just going to keep showing it to you, until you accept it. It took me 18 months to accept, but when I did, the destroyer lost all ability to accuse me. THANK YOU LORD JESUS!

thank you for the prayer and for the SCRIPTURE GUIDE . AMEN I WILL ABIDE ON OUR GOD
This is a very rich study. On top of this, you know what’s really cool? Yes, God passed over the houses with the doors marked with blood, but God passed over the threshold of the doors of the Hebrews whose doors were marked by blood!
To my knowledge, a covenant was made with guests who would pass over the threshold by sacrificing an animal, and accepting that guest as “one.” Like two parties becoming one in a covenant.
When the Hebrews were doing this, I’m sure there was an extra chair, and the children were wondering what guest was coming over for the evening (since there was a sacrifice and blood on the doorpost.) God passed over the threshold and became one with the family, and passed over the house for judgment. Threshold covenant and becoming one seems to have derived from marriage covenant (in antiquity, a woman’s anatomy was equated to a door, and the man as a guest, and thus, when they consummated, blood would be shed, and they would be one.)
I love how passover is such a parallel to Jesus. Jesus justifies us and forgives us of our sin. He enters into us and becomes one with us. The implications of him entering into us are manifold–he not only restores that life that was lost to humanity (spiritual death -> born again in the Spirit), he becomes one with us, lives in the believers (!!!!!!!!), never leaves us, clothes us with his perfect righteousness and holiness, and is one with us.
My favorite part is that Jesus spells this out so beautifully during the passover feast (last supper) to his boys. I love how he emphatically says, “Guys! I’ve been waiting eagerly to share this meal with you!” That unleavened bread (dry, and crackerlike) that the good Jewish boys have been eating for all of their lives, he explains as his body–the body without sin (yeast is equated to sin biblically). And the wine, his blood–in Leviticus, it is written that life is in the blood. EAT AND DRINK! What happens when we eat and drink? It goes inside of us. It’s amazing that Jesus lives inside of us. God, who sees no sin, lives inside of us and has graciously given us new birth without blemish, Jesus’ life.
I’m sorry if that was long, but I thought it would be relevant to this discussion
Peace be with you.
