This is a 3 part series
Take a look at a chronological timeline (another good timeline) of the people in the bible. In particular look at the names of the people. Perhaps try and find Elisha.
Do you notice the declining intimacy and experience with God? We went from great intimacy with God (Adam & Eve) to walking with Him (Abraham and Moses) where He was literally in amongst us.
Then He was up the mountain and only some people could touch the mountain. Then eventually His glory cloud (shekinah) left the temple and moved up onto the Mount of Olives.
We have constantly been losing intimacy with God, slowly but surely, over thousands of years. When will we say “enough is enough” and truly seek intimacy with Him again?
Let me encourage you… Jesus made a way to go back into the Holy of Holies. He made a way for us to go boldly before our Father. He said the way is… through His body. Paul says the same thing. It is a profound statement and I hope you get excited by it. We do not need to accept the status quo, we can return to the great intimacy that they had all those thousands of years ago.
