People are inventing new ways to sin

I am excited that so many people (33% of the world) have seen the light of Jesus and His ability to heal and restore… but what concerns me is what so many others are doing.

Paul said it well: people are inventing new ways to sin.

Slanderers, hateful to and hating God, full of insolence, arrogance, [and] boasting; inventors of new forms of evil, disobedient and undutiful to parents. – Rom 1:30

Although I am excited that Jesus has paid for the sins of many people in this world, but the sins of the others remain a source of anger for God.

We murder babies in the womb in the name of “personal choice”. We “let the market decide” as we ignore the poor and their needs. We look at pornorgraphy and governments refuse to implement “adult” filters to protect children and families. In the name of capitalism, the strong prey on the weak and it’s accepted.

Justice, kindness and mercy is a foreign concept in the world and it is offensive in God’s eyes. It is only God who is able to decide what is right or wrong in this world. He has identified what is right and what is wrong in His scripture. He has repeatedly taken action against “evil doers” (people who do evil in His sight).

So many people are now doing evil and in such terrible ways, that this behaviour cannot continue to go on for too long… before God will take strong action.

We do not need to run after evil and self-interest. We can turn to Jesus and be restored to God. It is possible, it’s just that we don’t know how to do it or we don’t believe it will work – even if we do try.

Perhaps God will do something to His church and make it radiant – attracting the lost and helpless who are fighting for survival. Perhaps a radiant church can show the people that there truly is an alternative, a better way.

But will we respond? Will we partner with Him to build such a church of believers?
