This is a series of posts…
- “Nothing will be impossible for you” – Jesus Christ (October 2011)
- Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you HAVE received it (October 2011)
- How does faith work? (Nov 2006)
- Not by might nor by power but by my Spirit (Zech 4:6)
- The Kingdom of God grows – its a process
- In The parable of the sower we have to persist until we bear fruit
- In The parable of the lamp on a stand we will get what we ASK for
He is also deepening my understanding of how He works and heals us.
All day I have been seeing this world with new eyes. Clearer (not so smeared) eyes. Perhaps it’s the new heart and spirit that I’ve been praying for?!
I’m getting the whole faith thing clearer too.
In the parable of the sower He says, the ones who HEAR and ACCEPT are the ones who bear fruit.
For example you HEAR about Jesus’ ability to defeat sin, sickness and death. And you ACCEPT that He can do it. If you hear and accept, you will move an inch deeper into His Kingdom and produce a bit more fruit.
In this way the Kingdom grows from the smallest mustard seed up to being the biggest tree. Bit by bit.
Do you know what a mustard seed looks like?
Do you know what a mustard tree looks like?
Your faith will be tested – and that’s when we live by faith and not by what we see. What does that mean? Well… your eyes tell you that something is impossible… it’s therefore not possible for God to do it.
But you HEARD (in the bible) that He can do anything, so you choose to BELIEVE He can do it. You stand firm that Hean do it if He wishes. Then He responds to your faith in Him and grants your wish.
He said ‘woman your faith has made you well’. He meant, ‘woman, because you believe I can do this, I will do it for you’.
Our faith is an act of relationship. He’s relational.
The disciples said ‘how do we do the (power) works of God? (like healing)’ Jesus answered ‘believe in the One who God sent (Me)’.
So HEAR about Him and BELIEVE that He can do what He said He can do. Then stand firm on it and don’t trust your thoughts or eyes – believe He can… because He can.
He can heal you. He can restore your family. He can bring people back from the dead.
You have heard. Now believe and stand firm on that fact that He can. Do not doubt that He can do what is written about Him. HE CAN!
BUT unfortunately, sometimes He doesn’t want to. He won’t give bad gifts. We must be prepared to accept that.
But many times… He does want to and He will. We’re His kids! Our family is His family too! He wants the best for us.
He is a good God. No. He is a great God. In fact, He is the ONLY God. And He loves you.
Please share this post with someone who is searching, or someone who needs to see their life and their potential in a whole new light – as an overcoming victory through Jesus Christ. May God bless you – and I look forward to reading your comments and replying to them!
Unfortunately, I hear people frequently say that “sometimes God doesn’t want to” concerning things He has specifically promised in His Word…such as healing.
God is like a radio station…His power is broadcasting and He is on the air! If we aren’t receiving, then the issue is with us, not with God.
It’s not right to blame God for “deciding not to heal” as an excuse for why someone did not receive…what most people for get is to get God’s Wisdom first…let Him teach us HOW to receive and teach us WHAT’S WRONG with our knowledge, and vision that is preventing us from receiving.
Overall, this is an excellent article…I just wanted to point out that leaving the door open by saying “sometimes God doesn’t want to” doesn’t match up with what Jesus spoke of when He said “thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”.
This just means we should not limit God and say it’s Him withholding that which Jesus has already purchased for us…when things aren’t going right, as it’s not God’s fault.
It’s mankind that has fallen short of God’s Glory…which is why God sent Jesus and then sent the Holy Ghost to lead us in exactly HOW to walk in those things the Jesus purchased for us to have!
You’re blessed, Peace in!
Dude, rock on! You are SO right.
That was written in 2006. Now, 5 years later, literally TODAY I wrote an updated post. It got published a few minutes ago!

Hi Osaro
You are very welcome here. Enjoy!
God bless you, Mark.
i thank god for leading to this website and please do not forget to remember me in your prayer as i just became a born again recently and i know that the devil shall test me therefore pray for me to have strength to overcome his temptations.
Hi guys
I have found (in my walk) that faith is simpler and easier than I ever imagined or expected. It’s a bit different to the “normal” teachings on faith, in that the words of Jesus are simply: hear and believe… and I don’t add extra words to what He said.
I’ll keep writing about faith and gradually the slight difference will eventually become clearer and clearer I hope and pray.
Thanks again for your comments.
Bless you,
Mark.
You know, God said His thoughts are not our thoughts.
Or His ways are not our ways.
But He also said you will hear a voice behind you saying, this is the way, walk ye in it…
Do we hear the voice?
Faith is a moment by moment transaction that takes hold of the Grace of God and empowers us to rise above the flesh…
Question is, are we taking hold?
Great post, Mark. Thank you!
Hear, accept, and act on what you have heard and accepted! We have to always take that step of faith first before He does the miracle.
John… You said something that resonnated in my spirit. “….take that step (of faith) first….” Sometimes God talks to us through other people. I heard God talk to me through you. And then I thought about the woman in the bible that said “If only I could just touch his garment, then I will be healed”. She “acted” on her faith and she was healed. She took the first step. Therefore to activate my faith, I must take the first step and believe that God will carry it through. Thank you so much, John.
Hi Margo and all
I’m glad you found something that resonated with you. But just for the record, I don’t agree with what you think God is saying to you. I don’t think the key is stepping out in faith. The key is and always will be, our actual FAITH, what we believe that Jesus Christ has done for us on the cross.
I tried stepping out in faith so many times and it didn’t work every time. Stepping out turned out to be a bad idea. So I tried to focus on my faith, and after a while of correcting and adjusting and strengthening my faith… that began to work.
The woman reached out to touch Jesus Christ’s garment because she believed He was a healer. Was it the stretching out that healed her, or was it that her faith in Him overcame the evil in this world?
It is our faith IN HIM that overcomes this world. It’s our faith in His finished work on the cross that sets you free. Stepping out just increases the danger and risk in your life as you throw caution to the wind and take unnecessary risks, in my opinion it simply doesn’t work.
God bless,
Mark.
Some risks are necessary or else you won’t learn much, or anything.
Faith requires action. Maybe what you’re trying to emphasize is stepping out in strengthened Faith. But then again, Faith is strengthened through experiences in life and God can use this time to build character in you.
