A prayer request for me

Hi guys. In my previous post I told of the wonderful things that God is doing in my life. But I also said that I’m still struggling in overcoming in some personal areas. Would you mind saying a prayer for me to overcome? As the bible says, we stumble but we don’t fall. I’d like to stop stumbling. I’d really appreciate your help in re-building Nehemiah’s walls around my life. Thanks!

  1. You are in my prayers, dear brother!

“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your heart and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” –2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NIV)

    Thanks Bill!

  2. You got it! Remember 1 Cor 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more that you can stand.

Stay strong. We learn to lean on what works in difficult times…give God a chance…

The temptation is FREQUENTLY much much more than I can stand. Trust me. But… you are right, in tough times we learn. Yes.

  3. The Lord delivered me from my addiction to alchohol. Praise His Holy Name! When I no longer had the desire to turn to drinking during times of emotional stress, I turned to food instead. I prayed and asked the Lord Jesus to help me in that area as well and he did! Praise the Lord! He wants us to rely on Him in all things. Sometimes, He doesn’t take away our thorns but He will always give us enough grace to see us through.

I must remind myself daily that my old self has been crucified with Christ, asking the Lord to show me what needs to be cut off or cut out in order to stay focused on Him alone. Asking Him was causes the tremors that shake my many fault lines.

I am praying for your complete and total deliverance from the snares that entagle you. I am praying for you what I pray for myself which is that in all your ways you will acknowledge Him who is in control and standfast on His promise that He will make our paths straight.

That, although we are sometimes blinded by our struggles, we are assured by His Word that He will lead us on paths unknown and He will turn the darkness into light before us and make the rough places smooth. He will do these things for His children and He will never leave us or forsake us. Praise God for His faithfulness and tender mercy. Amen!

Thanks Scotti. Overnight was a tough one, but I’m coming clearer that I really do simply have to stand on those promises and not back away from them.
