Remember I said I had a (non-religious) sabbath? I got pretty blessed. For a while now this verse has been coming to mind, so I gave it a try
If you turn away your foot from [traveling unduly on] the Sabbath, from doing your own pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a [spiritual] delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, and honor Him and it, not going your own way or seeking or finding your own pleasure or speaking with your own [idle] words, then will you delight yourself in the Lord, and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth, and I will feed you with the heritage [promised for you] of Jacob your father; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. – Is 58 :13-14
May I just repeat that it was a heart thing, not a religious “sit in a chair and do nothing” sabbath. So. The day started brilliantly, just as it ended so well the previous night. Absolute comfort, steadfast faith. I drove along this morning marvelling at the promise of peace I had after a tough recent decision.
During lunchtime I had a brilliant idea for a new business and I shared it with some people who immediately ran with it. I felt blessed!
After lunchtime things went even better. I bought things for my pond, scored a great price! and installed them. I needed a second trip to Magnet Mart for electrical stuff, and once that was installed, I felt wonderful inside as I watched my goldfish jumping through the fountain. The water pressure flips them all over, its so cute!! I didnt know they usually did that – jumping through strong water jets?!
I went to have a coffee, became inspired to write 3 blogs. All three had words of encouragement, persistance, faith. I thought about publishing one and saving the others for later, but I felt “someone” would need all three today. That someone was me!
A great day ended with a bit of confusion and sadness. But at the last moment it took an unexpected turn. My faith was put to the test, but not to worry, God’s onto it 🙂
