Religious terms have increased a significant amount in the last year. Some of this may be related to the change mentioned in number 15, as people write less status updates about themselves. However, even in the last 6 months, there is a noticeable upward trend in occurrences of “Lord” and “God”, and while “Easter” occurs infrequently most of the time, the Easter Sunday spike from 2009 is about 30% higher than it was in 2008. The spikes in “God” all correspond to major events. The November 2008 spike is from the presidential election; after Easter comes Memorial Day and then the 4th of July; the next large spike is September 11th, followed by November 11th (Veteran’s Day), November 19th (God of War release) and November 26th (Thanksgiving). – Facebook Data Team
