Paul tells us how to do it, he says we must seek the things which are above (where you are seated) and he says to set your mind on them. So let’s keep exploring His new nature, which is our new nature.
Take a look at this next truth. We know that death temporarily held Jesus Christ for a few days, but then God gave Jesus Christ life and the bible says that His life spread to us, we have shared His resurrection…
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. – Rom 6:5
Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. – Rom 6:8
death no longer has dominion over him. – Rom 6:9
So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God IN Christ Jesus. – Rom 6:11
In Rom 6:9 the bible says that death has no dominion over Jesus Christ… and you shared His resurrection… so that means that death has no dominion over you either! What an inheritance!
And what does Paul describe as the key in Rom 6:11? Paul says “You must consider yourselves”. Again the theme is about renewing your mind, about setting your mind on what is above and not on the current situation you find yourself in. The bible says death has no dominion (no hold, no rulership) over you.
Is that true? I’m not asking if you currently see it, or if you feel it. I’m asking if you agree that the bible is saying something that is true. You have to believe in order to receive. Choose to have faith every day and say amen to this truth. Believe what the bible says that Jesus Christ did for you on the cross!
The book of Colossians also confirms that you have been raised up with/IN Jesus Christ…
having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. – Col 2:12
Did you see those words “raised with Him through faith”… again we see that the key is your faith.
The bible says you are raised up with Jesus Christ far above all powers and dominions… but the question is, do you believe what the bible says about you?
As Jesus Christ said
it will be done for you AS you have believed – Matt 8:13
