What do you give a Person Who can make anything He wants?
Let’s keep some perspective. He already made humans, the world, animals, daytime, nighttime, the earth. He guides nations.
If He chooses to, He can reveal Himself and overwhelm us with His power and Majesty and we will automatically bow our knee… as everyone will eventually do (see Isaiah 45.23, Romans 14:11, Philippians 2.10). So even that will be His one day.
So then… what DO you give a God Who has everything; and Who can make anything He doesn’t yet have?
The answer is this: He wants us to believe Him. He wants us to hear His words and believe them.
HOW you show your belief is up to you, it can come in any form depending on your personality…
- Some people show their belief in the form of praise and worship.
- Some people show their belief as taking actual steps in faith, based on His promises.
- Some people show their belief as “spiritual dance” or confession (repeating what He has said)
The list of things we can do is long. There is no right or wrong, because faith pleases God. It is His heart’s desire!
And without faith it is impossible to please God – Heb 11:6
People sometimes write about “what we can do for God”. This is a Martha approach, when what Jesus Christ showed us is that He desires Mary’s approach (Luke 10:38-42).
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,
but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” – Luke 10:41-42
What CAN you do for God? Really?
Believe Him. Believe what He says about His Son Jesus Christ. Believe what Abraham said about the perfect Lamb of God. Believe what He says about your life. Believe what He says about your country.
Believe Him! It’s what He wants. It’s what His heart desires.
And if you truly believe what He says, we all will be able to see it, because your behaviour will change. What you used to believe determined your behaviour, so now your new belief will determine new behaviour.
