Pls pray for Afghanistan now – 4 days to elections

Would you please join me in prayer for Afghanistan today and over the next few days? Their elections are just 4 days away. Pray for peace.

I believe that a breakthrough can occur and it will be a turning point for that war – and by extension for the country and the people who live there.

I am IN NO WAY advocating one side or another. I am NOT AT ALL saying that any participant is free from sin or in right relationship with Jesus Christ, or not. Life is much more complicated that simple rules and simply philosophies. God uses whoever He wills, and whoever is willing.

But here is what I do know… God loves people…

Afghan children need a peaceful future

These children need a peaceful future where boys and girls both get to have schooling and where their human rights are respected and where they have a chance to build a life, have a family and get a job, and of course where they have freedom of religion – and hopefully they will use that freedom to choose Jesus Christ.

So please join my in prayers for Afghanistan.

For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love. – Gal 5:6

External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world. – James 1:27

I feel passionately and very powerfully about this. I am not on anyone’s “side”, I want to see those kids grow up in a free society, free to choose. Afghanistan has suffered terribly. Please join me in prayer.

This country has been held by the twin forces of sin and death for so long. Just look at this wikipedia article (History of Afghanistan) showing the immense number of times that this area has been conquered and reconquered. The population has suffered so much.

Jesus Christ has said YOU AND I are the salt and light to the world. It is His power which is living and working through us. We are to take the message of reconciliation to these people. Unfortunately I don’t have the money to literally GO there, BUT I CAN PRAY.

And you can pray too. Please pray!

Print off the 35 prayer scriptures:

2009 Afghanistan Violent Areas

Speak the words of the bible, the truth of scripture over each of these 4 violent areas. Point to them and declare the truth. Remember the scripture that says that God’s grace has superabounded MORE than sin and death. Tell that to the spikes of death in that country. Overrule those spikes! They are unlawful and improper. Life and death is in the tongue… so speak!

Remember what God said

… sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it. – Genesis 4:7

The world thinks that global agreements will “master sin”, or better education, or financial planning. I believe that there is only one way to master sin in this world, and that is through the Lamb of God Who has taken away the sin of the world and Who has remitted the penalty.

Let me remind you of this pivotal scripture

that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. – 2 Cor 5:19

It’s only faith in Jesus Christ which releases that truth… and unless someone believes, the world remains in bondage to sin and death. Remember the scripture which says EVERY child of God overcomes the evil of this WORLD through their faith.

So be an overcomer of the evil in this world. Go forward in prayer and use the keys of the Kingdom as Jesus Christ taught us!

Mat 16:19 I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven;

and whatever you bind (declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth must be what is already bound in Heaven;

and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth must be what is already loosed in heaven

This is why we use scripture, because when we are declaring what Jesus Christ HAS DONE on His cross, we are declaring what has ALREADY been done in Heaven.

I believe that this “impossible to win” war will now turn and this country will be more and more free IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST.

And may I repeat again, I do not know how people will use this freedom. Will they experience the goodness of Jesus Christ and reject Him? Or will they turn? I don’t know. But I do know that I am asking Jesus Christ to raise up people who are willing to go into the harvest – perhaps you will go with me?
