Very recently the Holy Spirit gave me what He repeatedly called: “A new prayer“. It’s new to me and you, but it’s been there in the book of Isaiah for 2,500 years!
I have been taking time to pray it. It feels good and right. I will share it shortly/soon.
So… let’s consider all these previous prayers as “training wheels”… preparation for a “new prayer” which will have a far bigger impact than we dare to imagine!
For those who are setting time aside to pray, you will have been feeling His Holy Spirit more and you will have learned to tune into what He is doing.
That will help in your day to day life as well, because you can perceive more accurately where He is going with things.
If you have been believing that Jesus Christ has done a finished work on His cross and this means that evil has been defeated in Afghanistan, then I have to give you two thumbs up for having a big vision, for having courage to believe that the impossible can be done!
But listen to this… get excited… we follow a God Who…
… Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do
superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams] – Eph 3:20
This next “new” prayer is remarkably in line with what I learned in Australia.
In Australia the Holy Spirit called me to prayer in two distinct seasons.
- In the first when I prayed, I prayed hard, and I saw rain.
- In the second, when God said HE would bring rain, He did it extravagantly. He made entire rivers in the desert and He made countless thousands of small lakes across an area larger than almost all countries in the world, and then those rivers disgorged into Lake Eyre – fulfilling His promise to make rivers and a lake in the desert.
What I learned is that when we pray following His leading then things DO happen. Dramatic things… like saving suiciding farmers and an entire wheat belt which was about to shut down.
But when HE says HE will do something… then it’s our job to simply believe what He has said He will do… then incomparably VASTLY bigger things happen. And everyone knows He did it. We certainly did not!
So in what comes next? Our job is to simply believe He will do what He says He will do. Remember… God’s heart revealed to me: believe!
So prepare yourself to pray less and believe more. Trust me, we are involved in something that you will tell your kids about! You were born for a time such as this.
