This post comes in two parts
Ive been feeling to write this all day. It’s been on my mind for a few days. I know this post is incomplete and I don’t like writing things that feel incomplete… but I also feel I must write what I have now. If this speaks to you please let me know 🙂
But this post is much more serious than that. I hope that this post is like a ground shaking event under your faith and it brings an evolution of change to who you say you are and how you do spiritual warfare.
Firstly let’s remind ourselves… we do not war against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces in Heavenly places. Agreed?
And how do we do warfare against them? We have Jesus Christ’s righteousness in our right hand and our left hand for attack and for defense. Agreed?
By [speaking] the word of truth, in the power of God, with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand [to attack] and for the left hand [to defend]; – 2 Corinthians 6:7
If you aren’t attacking spiritual strongholds by using Jesus Christ’s righteousness, then you are probably not gaining ground. If you are not defending your land (physical and spiritual) by using Jesus Christ’s righteousness, then you are probably losing a lot of what God has blessed you with.
Do you know how much of an impact your prayers should be having?
For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds
[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) – 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
Using your spiritual weapons – faith in Jesus Christ’s righteous work on the cross – we pull down, overthrow, destroy spiritual strongholds.
And did you notice what kind of strongholds that includes? Arguments, theories, reasonings, proud and lofty things that are set up against the true knowledge of God.
And more… using our spiritual weapons – our faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross and in His resurrection – we use these weapons to take every thought captive and every purpose captive into obedience.
Ok. I imagine you are alert now. You might be doubting that this is suitable for you? You might be expecting this is only suitable for Reinhardt Bonnke or someone else? No. Paul was writing to the people in the church of Corinth. It’s for you. And for me.
