Please take note, these quotes below refer only to the US, but that is because that is where those people physically live and it’s because of the extremely dominant position of the US in the world today.
I must emphasize that the whole world must listen and pay attention and change direction urgently. I have repeatedly shared my visions and dreams and in my diary I wrote all of what I have heard (pdf) and many times I have blogged illustrating God’s miracle power and giving ample warning that you must change.
My final warning to you
I know from past observation and experience that you think you can ride and take advantage of any wave which comes past. You watch the prevailing wind and you use that wind to your own advantage. An experienced yachtsman can even sail into an opposing wind by using a strategy called tacking.
You try to use everything to your own advantage, even a wind that goes in the opposite direction to where you want to go.
If you see revival coming, you embrace it – and gain votes ad you dont change. If you see a school shooting, you show sympathy and you gain votes and you dont change. No matter what happens, you embrace it and further your own agenda without changing. If you see an economic meltdown you drive the stock prices up to keep the moms and pops in the market while you get your money out first, but you dont change.
You have known this collapse is coming for years, you prepared extensively for it and you wont change.
But I’m telling you for the umpteenth time: this time it is different. Unless you change, this change is going to dislodge you, because you are the problem. Your leadership is leading the world away from Jesus Christ. You prevent people from being re-united to God through Jesus Christ. You stifle His prophets, His words, His plans, His communication with His own people.
What could possibly have made you think God would tolerate that?
Should you not fear me?” declares the LORD. “Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it. – Jer 5:22
“Whom have you so dreaded and feared that you have been false to me, and have neither remembered me nor pondered this in your hearts? Is it not because I have long been silent that you do not fear me? – Is 57:11
These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you. But I will rebuke you and accuse you to your face. – Ps 50:21
“For a long time I have kept silent, I have been quiet and held myself back. But now, like a woman in childbirth, I cry out, I gasp and pant. – Is 42:14
You cannot take advantage of your own end. You cannot ride the wave that crushes you. You cannot embrace your own destruction and take advantage of it.
The people and the country
But dont worry… the people will survive, and the people are the country. So… do not worry, the country will survive (the freedoms and traditions)… if that is really your concern? New leadership will arise.
But unless you renounce your idolatry and unless you change your ways, you will not survive. Who will unseat you? God Himself. No one else. No human being and no country has the power to unseat you. There is no person that you need to be afraid of. You have offended God Himself.
Its all about His people
If you read my blog posts and my journal and read the bible you will notice a theme… which is that God loves people. ALL people. All souls are His.
For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son–both alike belong to me. – Ez 18:4
God raises up leadership to look after His people. He does not raise up leadership to look after itself. Leadership is not the goal, the people of this world – all of them – are what matters… they are His.
If you will not listen to me, then listen to these well known American leaders give the same warning…
“America is desperately in need of another great awakening,” says Cindy Jacobs, co-founder of Generals International.”
“As many other nations in history have belatedly discovered, one cannot eliminate the name of Jesus and think that God does not see. We all need to listen and respond to what the Lord has put on the heart of Dr. Billy Graham, and respond to his message of hope as well as courageously find our own voice in calling the church and nation to repent.”
Some years ago, my wife, Ruth, was reading the draft of a book I was writing. When she finished a section describing the terrible downward spiral of our nation’s moral standards and the idolatry of worshiping false gods such as technology and sex, she startled me by exclaiming, “If God doesn’t punish America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”
She was probably thinking of a passage in Ezekiel where God tells why He brought those cities to ruin.
“Now this was the sin of … Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen” (Ezekiel 16:49–50, NIV).
I wonder what Ruth would think of America if she were alive today. In the years since she made that remark, millions of babies have been aborted and our nation seems largely unconcerned. Self-centered indulgence, pride, and a lack of shame over sin are now emblems of the American lifestyle.
Just a few weeks ago in a prominent city in the South, Christian chaplains who serve the police department were ordered to no longer mention the Name of Jesus in prayer. It was reported that during a recent police-sponsored event, the only person allowed to pray was someone who addressed “the being in the room.” Similar scenarios are now commonplace in towns across America. Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone—except God.
Yet the farther we get from God, the more the world spirals out of control.
My heart aches for America and its deceived people. The wonderful news is that our Lord is a God of mercy, and He responds to repentance. In Jonah’s day, Nineveh was the lone world superpower—wealthy, unconcerned, and self-centered. When the Prophet Jonah finally traveled to Nineveh and proclaimed God’s warning, people heard and repented. I believe the same thing can happen once again, this time in our nation.
Billy Graham #2
“Nothing could be more urgent than for God’s people to come together and pray for our nation and our world,” Mr. Graham wrote. “Our only hope is to turn to the Lord Jesus Christ in repentance and faith and to seek to obey Him in every area of our lives, as individuals and also as a nation…As you gather in this historic place, which gave birth to our nation’s Declaration of Independence, may your presence give birth to a new declaration for our nation, a declaration of dependence upon almighty God.”
Television broadcaster Pat Robertson noted that in 1607, the first English settlers knelt in prayer around the cross, dedicating this new nation to the Lord. “I don’t care what the ACLU says or any atheist says, this nation belongs to Jesus,” he declared. “We will never change America through politics. We will only change America through a mighty outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit.”
Rev. Tony Perkins
Rev. Tony Perkins expressed gratitude to God that this nation was founded on righteousness and divine justice. “Our founders . . . did not build an altar to government; rather they launched a country that would honor you,” he said. “Today we look for government to be all that we need. Government can never be all we need. We need you.”
Bishop E.W. Jackson
Bishop E.W. Jackson: “You are not only the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, You are the God of George Washington, the God of Thomas Jefferson, the God of Patrick Henry and you are our God, the God of the United States of America. We are here to worship and acknowledge You and give praise to Your holy and righteous name.”
Jack Hayford, the founding pastor of The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, Calif., and the former president of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, says Graham’s letter comes as the nation is in a “very grim hour as we approach the election this year.”
“What we need is something on the order of shock troops at this hour, and I can imagine that can be raised,” Hayford says. “I don’t feel despairing. I do feel the urgency. We are at a point that desperate action is needed and Billy’s voice, certainly as no other, can give rise to that.”
Rabbi Jonathan Cahn
Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, … says Graham’s letter is a “prophetic word”… that America is rapidly departing from God and is in danger of judgment unless it turns back to God in humble and genuine repentance.
“I believe this is a very, very critical time for America and for God’s people in America, and I believe it has ramifications for world history,” says Cahn, a descendant of Aaron, the high priest of the ancient Israelites and the brother of the Biblical prophet Moses. “The way that America goes is going to affect the world, and the way God’s people in America go will affect America.
Joel Rosenberg… “America is in grave danger,” Rosenberg wrote. “The massacre in Aurora. The child sex-abuse scandal at Penn State. The scourge of abortion and pornography and runaway spending and debt in Washington. The list tragically goes on and on. In Implosion, I try to document how serious the situation is, and how a Third Great Awakening is the only answer.”
Doug Stringer, the founder of Somebody Cares America and the national mobilization coordinator for The Response, says a battle for the soul of the nation is underway, the wake-up call has come and yet “we keep pushing the snooze button.”
“Coming from one who has been such a great giant—an ambassador for Christ around the world—I think [Graham’s] words at age 93 should deeply, deeply impact each and every one of us,” Stringer says. “I really believe we’re in a Joel 2 moment where the church must take seriously personal and individual repentance. America is in trouble. We need God himself to intervene.”
