The ongoing inaccuracy of some modern high profile prophets

Regular readers will know that I almost never post prophetic words from other people – except for this post: 10 keys that will be released.

I don’t post other people’s words because…

1) Prophetic people are not meant to “steal” other people’s words, which is something I think I see happening a lot. Speak only the words you hear from God for yourself. If you hear nothing… then have the humility to say nothing…

But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death.” – Deut 18:20

“Therefore,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. – Jer 23:30

2) The ongoing inaccuracy of some modern high profile prophets – but if we say that then we are told we are out of alignment, or not in submission to authority etc. In both of the last 2 US elections the high profile prophetic people have been absolutely convincing and absolutely wrong. Facebook was awash in “prophetic” nonsense.

If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. – Deut 18:22

But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the LORD only if his prediction comes true.” – Jer 28:9

What is meant to be happening?

The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word. – 1 Sam 3:21

The God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac Who came to earth to rescue His own creation by becoming both the Son of God and also the Son of Man – Jesus Christ – and Who died for us and rose again… that God – and no other – is meant to be revealing Himself. What does He reveal? He reveals His Son Jesus Christ, because there is no other Name through which this world can be rescued.

What should we do about this?

We need to refocus ourselves. Stop worrying about all those “words”.

But even these reel from wine and stagger from strong drink: the priest and the prophet reel from strong drink; they are confused from wine, they stagger and are gone astray through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble when pronouncing judgment. For all the tables are full of filthy vomit, so that there is no place that is clean. – Is 28:7-8

For it is [His prophets repeating over and over]: precept upon precept, precept upon precept, rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little. – Is 28:10

Indeed these professional prophets are repeating over and over, precepts, rules, here a little and there a little. Unsubscribe from all lists. Really kick that addiction. Just stop listening to all that rubbish.

Read your bible and discover Jesus Christ.

What happens as you behold Him?

As you behold HIM you will discover your Father in Heaven. As you behold HIM you will gradually come into His image more and more.

Here IS a word from a prophetic voice… it’s not about future events, it’s a word from God helping you to get closer to Him…

The closer you come to My anointing, and the more I pour My Spirit out upon you and through you, three things take place simultaneously.  First, you flow more in My gifts and become more of a conduit to others.  Second, your soul is being healed of old wounds as it gets washed, and three your flesh, that carnal part of you, begins to die. The process that takes place is a separation of the spirit and the soul and even the flesh, that you may become whole and have My Spirit reign in your mortal body.  My Spirit will spotlight all your motives until what you share is not self motivated to feed your soul or your flesh, but only motivated by what You hear and see Me saying.

The verse with that word:

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. –  Heb 4:12-13 NKJV

I agree with this word. Over time, as we focus on Jesus Christ, we change. Just keep focussing on Him. Dig deeper into Him. Eat His flesh (metaphorically). Drink His blood (metaphorically). Remember that we “receive by faith”. Invest heavily into your faith, evaluate what it is you believe. What does the bible say about Jesus Christ? Do you believe what it says?
