Im sure you have seen this scripture…
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. – Eph 6:12 NLT
… but let me ask you this, when last did you war against those evil rulers, mighty powers and evil spirits? Not recently? A long time ago? Maybe you never have?
The problems of this world are here and now around us, but the solution is to war for our freedom. We do not war against flesh and blood. You do not war against the people, they are merely being used. You war in order to set them free.
How do we war? Through Jesus Christ because He already defeated those evil powers on His cross.
Here is a speech by Dr. Martin Luther King: “Where do we go from here” (full transcript here) Although he was not saying the same things as I am, his words seem to me to speak directly to where we find ourselves. To listen to the key words that I fund so moving, please jump to 47 seconds into the video…
Here are the the words that I found so meaningful from that inspiring speech…
- For through violence you may murder a murderer but you can’t murder murder.
- Through violence you may murder a liar but you can’t establish truth.
- Through violence you may murder a hater, but you can’t murder hate.
- Darkness cannot put out darkness.
- Only light can do that.
When will you take a stand and war for the freedom of the world around you? It might mean selling your tv and praying every night. It might also mean loving your neighbor or starting a school feeding service where you care for the children who go to school hungry. It might mean joining in prayer groups, or starting a prayer group.
You could also join in a Christian movement which is growing internationally, it’s called Fusion.
Let’s let Dr. Martin Luther King have the last word…
And I say to you, I have also decided to stick to love. For I know that love is ultimately the only answer to mankind’s problems. And I’m going to talk about it everywhere I go. I know it isn’t popular to talk about it in some circles today. I’m not talking about emotional bosh when I talk about love, I’m talking about a strong, demanding love. And I have seen too much hate.

Thank you as always. I think of Martin Luther King as our only modern day prophet, expressing the Gospel far better and truer than anyone since Yeshua and his disciples.
