The (new) tree of life

This revelation came to me a few days back. I usually wait on these things for a few days just to see what else, if anything, comes up. Here goes…

In Genesis Adam sinned by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God had said that if they do that, in that day they will die.

So… death was the consequence of sin. And if they still had access to the tree of life, they could have eaten from that tree of life and lived forever.

Now here is the revelation bit.

As they got hurt or wrinkled they would simply have walked over to the tree of life and eaten a few leaves. We know this because in Rev 21 it says the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations.

But. God denied them access to the tree, so eventually Adam died and everyone else died too.

But now… we have a new tree of life… Jesus Christ… and instead of eating leaves whenever we feel sick or we need some form of increased life… instead… we eat His flesh and drink His blood (by faith) when we need healing or we need life.

Walk up to Him (by faith) at any time and eat from Him (by faith).

He is our tree of life!
