Today if you hear his voice

If you have been a Christian for long enough you have no doubt heard the same “words” over and over but quite often your life is still the same as it was previously. Not always… but often.

We need to ask ourselves WHY would God give the same words to generation after generation?

It’s the same promise using different words: “this is the hour and these are the days that the Lord will move”.

How can that be true all of the time? How can it be true to all generations starting from 2,000 years ago?

Because… every day and every hour and every year is “today” for someone.

So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, – Heb 3:7

As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” – Heb 3:15

I suggest that all these words are exhortation to live life differently. Jesus said the three that remain are faith, hope and love. And most prophetic words are hope and scripture says that hope gives rise to faith.

BUT if we will understand what God is calling us to, then these things will really happen in our generation. The central problem is what it has always been… the problem is our faith is incomplete.

These are incredibly pivotal days! – Explanation… every day and every year is pivotal, because God is always advancing His Kingdom. Sometimes a bit. Sometimes a lot. It depends who will listen to Him and walk with Him. Today on the Earth there are more Christians alive and waiting to GO to Heaven than there are IN Heaven already!

But what we have to grasp is this… 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ already brought about the “culmination of the ages”…

Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. – Heb 9:26

There is literally nothing more for Jesus Christ to do. Nothing. So He sat down at the right hand of God to wait.

What’s He waiting for? For His enemies to be made a footstool under His feet. And who did He say is the light of this world? Us! Who did He give the right to become children of God? Us!

If those days 2,000 were the end of the age then where are we now? We are beyond the end. Past the finish line. And that is why God keeps repeating the same promises to each generation. Thats why He keeps saying TODAY is the day! NOW is the time!!  If we will just hear and believe!!
